A small gated villa in the back of beyond this is a (very well) hidden gem, make sure you take a copy of the map provided! Located only a short drive from both the airport and Ao Po Grand Marina this is a conveniently located, great spot to spend a few days before or after another trip. We stayed here for only one night in-between a Liveaboard and travelling to Koh Yao Yai, although we would quite happily have extended our stay.
The couple who run the villa are extremely welcoming, offering you a free drink of anything from their bar on arrival and assisting with anything you might need. They arranged transport to dinner and the pier the consequent day for us, and I feel like nothing would’ve been too big to ask (they even ironed Charlie’s shirt for him for free!).
Inside of this hidden oasis there are only six bedrooms, each looking out onto the lovely swimming pool, so you’ll never have to fight for a sunbed. The rooms are large and modern with everything you could need, and were kept very clean and tidy.
We spent our afternoon here enjoying the glorious sunshine by the pool, and playing with flamingo inflatables!
Just down the road is the famous Mission Hills golf course and some lovely beaches are only a short drive away so if staying for longer you could easily get out and explore some of the island – admittedly the only time we left was to eat at Black Ginger.
In the morning an absolute feast of breakfast is prepared for you, in fact there was so much food I would challenge four people to be able to finish it – we struggled to even make a dent in the plates of food that kept arriving! Even if you make it through the endless fresh fruit platter, full cooked breakfast, pancakes, chocolate croissants, frittatas, bread, jams and fresh juices, you certainly won’t be needing lunch!
They also offer lunch and dinner if you book in advance, all freshly prepared and I would imagine very delicious. If we were staying longer I would love to have tried some of their home cooked delights.
