Although Bruges has its’ own airport, there are very limited destinations that fly here. Instead fly to Brussels International Airport, only an hour ‘s flight from London and most German/French cities, and catch a direct train to Bruges. With an extensive rail system in Belgium you can travel from any major city in Belgium to Bruges, or catch the Eurostar all the way from London into Brussels Midi to change for the 50 minute journey to Bruges.

With only a few lavishly furnished rooms at each make sure you book ahead, especially to stay at the popular Guesthouse Bonifacius overlook one of the beautiful stretches of canal.

For some fine dining head to one of many Michelin star restaurants, including three star Hertog Jan (technically not in Bruges any longer but worth the journey!); or enjoy a gastronomic experience at Patrick Devos.
When in Bruges your drink of choice has to be beer! With hundreds of Belgian beers to try, a handful produced within the picturesque city of Bruges, you’ll never run out of new beers to try. Head to 2be Bar to sit out on the terrace beside the canal to sample some beers and people watch in the sunshine.
