Getting here

London is serviced by six international airports making it one of the most accessible cities in the world. You can fly direct into London from a vast number of destinations however some flights from further afield may fly via Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid or Frankfurt, all around an hour hop from London. All of the airports are connected to central London with public transport options making it quick and easy to get around. London is also very well connected to the rest of the UK via rail and road with some high speed rail routes reducing journey times into London.

Stay

London has a wide range of hotel options from big name chains of the Hilton and Marriott, to small luxury boutiques including Ham Yard Hotel and The Ned. For the ultimate splurge book a room at one of the capital’s most famous hotels - The Savoy, The Dorchester or The Ritz. Cheaper accommodation is easier to find a little way out of the centre of London, and you can easily travel back into the city on the underground.

Eat

There are thousands of restaurants to choose from in London including 70 Michelin star establishments alongside some amazing cheap eats. Cuisine-wise there are options from all over the globe with various vibes and price ranges, making it hard to pick a favourite. Try not to eat near tourist areas to avoid overpaying for a distinctly average meal, the only exception to this is in the West End where you can pick up great value pre-theatre menus. Make sure to book ahead as the best restaurants are always booked out!

Drink

In London, whatever your tipple of choice is there’s a bar that will specialise in it. From beer tap rooms to gin parlours and speakeasies hidden behind a fridge door to rooftop bars with views of the iconic London skyline, you’ll easily find a great bar. To learn more about your favourite drink there are even several masterclasses hosted in the capital and some micro-breweries and gin distilleries to explore.

See & Do

Alongside the popular tourist attractions of the London Eye, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace there are many lesser known spots of London to explore. From the vast Greenwich park with views over Canary Wharf to numerous street markets to meander along, and from cruises along the Thames to perusing miles of shops there’s plenty to see and do. Something different happens every day of the week in London as various bars, restaurants and events ‘pop up’ offering a new place to explore.

SHOREDITCH AREA GUIDE

East London’s vibrant neighbourhood of Shoreditch is full of lively markets, vibrant street art and endless delicious bars and restaurants to discover. Explore my Shoreditch guide detailing the best restaurants, top bars and most exciting things to see and do.

AMETSA WITH ARZAK INSTRUCTION

Created by the renowned culinary Arzak family, Ametsa with Arzak Instruction brings modern Spanish gastronomy to London. Set within the COMO Halkin Hotel, this one Michelin starred restaurant bring authentic Basque flavours and stylish presentation to the table.

SALUT!

This small bistro seating around 30 covers is a gem not to be missed. You can satisfy your tastebuds as you marvel at the chefs whipping up fantastic dishes from the open kitchen.

WHITE LYAN

White Lyan is a revolutionary iceless cocktail bar offering cocktails reminiscent of Heston Blumenthal. Unfortunately now closed and replaced by Super Lyan.

FEAST YOUR CHOPS AT BLACKLOCK

For the ultimate carnivorous experience, feast yourself on the epic selection of beef, lamb and pork chops from these ex-Hawksmoor chefs at Blacklock.

RULES

For the perfect Sunday lunch why not visit the restaurant named the oldest in London for truly traditional British fare! Especially recommended in game season for their extra special menu.

  • When you try to go for a romantic walk along the beach at sunset and end up scrapping that to get the ultimate shot for the 'gram 📷 .
.
The trials and tribulations of being an #instagramhusband Sorry for spoiling your plans every time I see a cool photospot 🙈 .
.
This beautiful beach is found just off the Mozambican coast tucked among the stunning Bazaruto Archipelago. Check out our full review of @azuraretreats to see more of this special place - link up 🔝

.
PHOTO TIP: Sometimes the sun can come out looking a bit weird in a photo due to refraction in the lenses, for a sneaky cheat to make it look epic try using the @lensdistortions app 🌅 .

  • Sunday are for kicking back and soaking up the African sun ☀️
.
.
In between game drives (during the heat of the day when all the lions are snoozing) you'll have plenty of time to chill out and enjoy the sun and the beautiful lodge at @baobab_ridge
.
.
Grab a glass of wine and relax, but always keep your eyes peeled as you never know who will be coming for a drink at the watering hole🍷Whilst we were watching a lonesome pumba came to quench his thirst! 🐗 (Check out my story to see him!)
.
.
PHOTO TIP: Always try to frame your photo the way you want it in the first instance although the @lightroom heal feature is great for removing any pesky branches, there was a big branch over the top right corner but that had to go! 👀

  • Why do African sunsets never fail to deliver? 🌄
.
.
During our time in the bush, we were wowed by so many incredible colours as the sun dipped below the horizon. Whilst you're on safari with @baobab_ridge expect to enjoy this in style as your guide sets you up a magical sundowner spot, complete with wine and snacks - YUM! 🍷
.
.
Check out our full review of the amazing Baobab Ridge Safari lodge - link in bio 🔝
.
.
PHOTO TIP: For some reason sunsets never look as good on a camera as they do with your own eyes! For optimal results set the shutter speed a touch lower to capture as much colour as possible and play with an editing software such as lightroom to try to enhance the colours. You can see a before and after in my story!

  • Five minutes before this moment I had been face to face with a pride of nine lions 🦁 thankfully still in the jeep at that time! Seeing these amazing animals in the wild is an experience I'll never forget.
.
.
Our guide, David, tracked these lions for an hour, finding trails of the pride hunting a buffalo but luckily for the buffalo they failed to make a kill. Also luckily for us all this running about meant the lions were all snoozing in the sunshine ready to be spotted 💤 📍@baobab_ridge , Kruger
.
.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIP: Whilst on safari a telephoto lens is a must for capturing crisp photos of the animals, these don't come cheap so I recommend using a lens rental company such as @alensforhire 📸

  • Throwback to the last time we went away, to the beautiful @holbeck_ghyll in the Lake District. Tonight we are off to South Africa and Mozambique and I cannot wait! Safari, beaches and diving awaits 😍 Where’s your next adventure? 🌍 .

.
TRAVEL TIP: Whilst you're exploring Cumbria, take time to venture along the hidden paths and wooded areas around the wonderful lakes to discover gems like this tucked away!

  • The ruins of the Moorish Castle in Sintra are reminiscing of an old fairytale kingdom, contrasting the bold colours of Pena Palace just a short walk away 🏰 The castle offers is pretty in a more understated way, with exceptional views across the old town and towards the coastline beyond 😍 Where’s the prettiest castle you’ve visited?
.
.
.
RESTAURANT TIP: After a morning exploring the famous palaces of Sintra, head to Tascantiga in the old town to tuck into some delicious Portuguese classic tapas 🇵🇹

  • Perched above Lake Windermere with sweeping views across the Lake District sits the magical @holbeck_ghyll You can wander through this magical forest all the way to the water's edge 🏞️
.
.
.
BEHIND THE GRAM: Although I love the colours and composition of this shot, the rocks were covered in damp moss meaning they were so slippery I almost ended up in the stream with them! 🙈 Cue several shrieks and arm flapping as I found a stable rock!

  • This twirling photo might look carefree, but what you don’t see are the many outtakes where my face is a mess of concentration or even worse when my dress has lifted up to show my underwear 🙈 .
.
.
TRAVEL TIP: When exploring Prambanan temple you can hire a private tour guide from near the entrance. It’s definitely worth the small additional fee, you'll learn so much more about the temple and they know all the best insta spots. Our guide even turned into our very own personal photographer! 📸

  • The Lake District is one of those places where time seems to move slowly and nobody is ever in a rush 🏞️ Such a nice change from hectic London life - where do you go to escape?
.
.
.
TRAVEL TIP: If you manage to tear yourself away from the stunning views of Lake Windermere, you should head North of Ambleside to the quaint village of Grasmere and it's stunning surroundings. Meander into the village from the car park along the riverside path and over this cute bridge. Famed for its gingerbread there are a bunch of quaint shops to explore and of course little tea rooms!

  • When you visit the ancient city of Dubrovnik don’t miss a walk along the ancient walls to see the city from above. You can look out over the terracotta rooftops to the sparkling sea beyond! 🇭🇷
.
.
.
TRAVEL TIP: With so many amazing islands and cities to visit along the Croatian coastline why not explore the length of the country starting in Zadar and island hopping all the way to Dubrovnik. The best way to travel in between places are the ferries, although they’re always late! ⛴ .
