Bali International Airport has multiple international and domestic direct flights, including Dubai, Sydney, Singapore and Jakarta. With a lack of efficient public transport options, it is best to pre-arrange a driver to pick you up from the airport as taxis tend to charge a premium rate. From the airport to Kuta (surfing hotspot) takes around 30 mins and cost IDR 75k, to Ubud (home of the famous rice terraces) 2 hours and IDR 400k, and to Lovina (Northern hotspot) 3 hours and IDR 450k.
Bali is teeming with luxury hotels and villas across the Island, with each area retaining a unique atmosphere to suit all travellers. In Ubud, find yourself an eco-resort or boutique hotel overlooking the beautiful rice terraces or rainforest and enjoy the laid back vibe. Check out Bisma Eight for the ultimate in luxury and relaxation with its beautiful suites an awesome infinity pool! In Kuta you can find several reasonably priced private villas for some rest and relaxation.
Bali is teeming with world class restaurants offering both Western interpretations of Indonesian cuisine as well as excellent International restaurants. In Ubud, look no further than Mozaic for a gastronomic experience featuring local flavours. A little further off the map, Cuca (near to Denpasar Airport) offers immaculately presented, creative dishes.
Kuta is home to several lively beach clubs where the party continues from day to night. Elsewhere on the island the vibe tends to be more chilled. The best cocktails are to be found in high end restaurants or hotels where you can sip delicious pina coladas poolside.
Across Bali there are a multitude of activities to suit all interests. Travel North for dolphin watching with the sunrise; and to explore some beautiful temples and waterfalls. Within Ubud explore the working rice terraces and pay a visit to Monkey Forest (if you dare!). Around Kuta, the beaches are a surfers paradise for anyone looking to kick back a Bintang and ride the waves.
